More Dachshund Info

The Dachshund breed is very little and adorable. The Dachshund puppy will have a little but long body with short stumpy legs and a muscular frame. They have longer noses with flat droopy ears. These little doxie puppies may seem small and tiny in size, but they carry themselves with a lot of confidence and pride. They are teeny tiny but don't tell them that, they think that they are larger in size.

The Dachshund Dog Breed comes in many different sizes. First, there is the Standard Dachshund dog; next we have the Toy Dachshund dog. We can't forget about the Miniature Dachshund dog or Mini Doxie Dachshund. Some people call the Dachshund by the name of Doxie, or Weiner dog, or Hot dog.

Dachshunds are sleek in form. They have a beautiful coat of hair. The Dachshund dog breed comes in many different coats types. There are Short-haired dachshunds, wired-haired Dachshunds, and long-haired Dachshunds. With each of these coats there are three sizes. The short-haired Dachshund has a coat that is very sleek. The Solid-colored Dachshunds can be red, tan or yellow in color. Bi-color Dachshunds can range from the colors black, brown, or gray with areas of bright chestnut or hazel. There are also piebald Dachshunds, and speckle-streaked Dachshunds, or harlequin colored Dachshunds. There are solid red Doxies, sable Dachshunds, English cream or cream Dachshunds; black and tan doxies, chocolate colored Dachshunds and tan colored Dachshunds, wild boar colored Dachshunds are quite unique and, gray and tan colored dachshunds, and brindle colored Dachshund puppies.

The Dachshund breed is an exceptional breed to travel with. Doxies work well in a family environment, preferably one that has older children or kids. The child must be gentle with the puppy though, this is important. Hot dogs are very protective of their family members and owners. It may be surprising but little Doxies have a loud bark for their small size. Dachshunds are known to be okay with other pets around. Standard Doxies, Mini Dachshunds, and Toy Dachshunds are perfect for an apartment, but this doesn't mean that they don't need a large area to run around. As a matter of fact Dachshund pups would love a large area to run around and play. They are quite active indoors or inside the home, and will be just fine without a yard. Dachshund puppies are best when they are home-raised with a private registered breeder in a household or home environment and with this end up going through a socialization process early on in life. With this proper start, they will make great family pets.
